Challenge

Coop is one of Switzerland’s largest retail and wholesale companies with a wide network of supermarkets, specialty formats, and online shops. In addition to its retail business, Coop also runs major wholesale and production operations. Category management and procurement play a key role at Coop, as they directly influence prices, quality, assortment, and sustainability. To meet customer needs and stay competitive, Coop wanted to increase efficiency in procurement and make decisions based on clean data and solid bid analysis. Existing tools made this difficult, as tenders and evaluations took too much time and lacked transparency.

Solution

Coop searched for new solutions that could cover not only e-tendering but also advanced analysis and scenario creation capabilities. Archlet met these requirements and convinced the team during a pilot. After the pilot, Coop decided clearly in favor of Archlet. Today, Archlet’s analysis and scenario tool is firmly established in procurement for both retail and indirect goods. It helps buyers prepare and run tenders more efficiently, analyze supplier offers faster, and base decisions on clear data. Stakeholders get more transparency, and collaboration with suppliers has improved.

"With Archlet we can speed up RFPs, improve transparency, and create stronger insights for our sourcing decisions. Archlet has become an important part of our daily work in procurement."

Result

With Archlet, Coop has reduced the time spent on running tenders and significantly increased savings. Transparency has improved both internally, with project stakeholders, and externally, in working with suppliers.
